Established in 1935, Concordia Lutheran High School (CLHS) continues a long-standing tradition of Lutheran educational excellence first established in Fort Wayne in the 19th century. In 1963 Concordia moved from the corner of South Anthony and Maumee Avenue to its present location along the St. Joseph River at North Anthony Boulevard and St. Joe River Drive . In its nearly 70 years of existence, Concordia has touched the lives of over 10,000 graduates with a Christ-centered environment noted for academic excellence and dynamic extra-curricular programs.
Concordia Lutheran High School is owned and operated by the Lutheran congregations of the Concordia Educational Association (CEA). Since 1935, CEA has provided Christ-centered secondary education to families in Fort Wayne and surrounding communities. Concordia Educational Association, Inc. member congregations are:
Concordia is accredited by the North Central Association, National Lutheran Schools, and the Indiana Department of Education . Concordia offers 124 courses for students seeking Academic Honors, Core 40, or general high school diplomas. Seven Advanced Placement courses are offered along with four world languages. On average, 94% of CLHS students go on to college or continuing education. The student-faculty ratio is 15-1. The average class size is 24. Sixty-three percent of the faculty have earned advanced degrees. The faculty averages 19 years of experience. CLHS has a counselor-student ratio of 1 to 230.
Concordia students are active and involved . Opportunities for participation range from student publications to a variety of areas in the arts to Koinonia small group Bible studies to after-school club activities.
There are 21 athletic teams sanctioned by the Indiana High School Athletic Association and two club sports (bowling and men's volleyball). Concordia is a member of the Summit Athletic Conference, a ten-member league of Fort Wayne high school comprised of Concordia, seven public high schools, and two Catholic high schools.
Concordia's 43-acre campus is set in the northeastern part of Fort Wayne , minutes from downtown and within walking distance of the Indiana - Purdue - Fort Wayne University and Ivy Tech College campuses. Anthony Boulevard divides the campus with the main academic facilities and Our Creator's Classroom located on the west side and the Fred Zollner Memorial Stadium and Athletic Complex on the east side.
