Scholarship Information

As a diverse community, Concordia Lutheran High School seeks to enroll a diverse cross section of students who represent the world in which our students live. Students of faith are welcome and the Concordia experience nurtures caring, commitment, and responsibility from its students.

Choosing the right high school is, for some families, a serious and complex process. A number of factors must be considered in meeting the needs of each entering student. As you prepare to move into your high school years many questions begin to arise. Given the life-changing value offered by Concordia, one question you may have is what types of financial support are available to offset the cost of tuition?

Concordia offers four types of Scholarships to students who have submitted a completed Application for Admission. The Scholarship package awarded to a student varies from family to family and each situation is given individual attention. Students receiving a Scholarship are expected to maintain a positive academic and behavioral record. They are also expected to be a good citizen as a Concordia student both in and out of the school setting.

NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

The Private School Aid Service provides evaluation of financial need. Their assessment provides us with a baseline comparison and objective assessment of need of the families  that apply for financial assistance.

Every family applying for financial assistance to Concordia Lutheran High School must complete the PSAS form and mail it, along with the $21.00 fee to PSAS.  No application will be processed unless the fee is enclosed.  NOTE that families mail it to PSAS, NOT to Concordia!  Families are encouraged to complete the PSAS process as soon as possible, at the time of application for enrollment or re-enrollment.  Applications received at Concordia Lutheran High School after June 30, 2010, will not qualify for a first semester need-based scholarship.

EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

All new students are invited to apply for this renewable scholarship. The minimum grade point average is 3.0 on a 4.0 grade scale.  These awards may be given for academic achievement and promise as well as for merit and overall achievement.  Excellence Scholarships are renewable after a review of the student’s academic, behavioral, and citizenship performance.

CONGREGATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Students who are members in good standing in a CEA congregation may be awarded this scholarship. Congregational support for Concordia Lutheran High School funds these scholarships, which are renewed prior to each semester.

Funds for financial aid are made available to Concordia Lutheran High School from the Concordia Educational Foundation and a variety of organizations and individuals who want to assist families with the increasing cost of Christian education.  Families are encouraged to check other potential sources of assistance, including their Lutheran congregation.  Financial aid is intended to help make enrollment possible.  Families who may not think it is affordable should contact the school before making a final decision.
