Let go and be still

As I sat to write this post, I began to think about my to-do list. What I need to do for work, for home, for Christmas shopping and all of the other items I’m sure I’m forgetting.

But then, something popped into my head: Be still.

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God…,” Psalm 46:10a

It’s a great reminder during the hustle and bustle of the season. I need to be still and remember that during everything else that I have going on I am still a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a child of Jesus Christ.

I need to be still and take time to have a conversation with God. I need to be still and spend quality time with my husband (that does not involve cleaning the house or chasing down our dog). I need to be still and call up my parents for dinner. I need to be still and take the time to laugh and reminisce with my brother and sister. I need to be still and take time to be a friend.

It’s not always easy. If you’re anything like me, you’re busy. You say yes to a lot of commitments, and the time for others, or even for yourself, gets lost.

So, I hope that you can take some time this weekend to “Let Go and Be Still.” I know that I will.

Blessings,
