Policies on Cellular Phones, Pagers, and other Electronic Communication Devices
Any student possessing or using during the school day an electronic communication device is subject to the following school discipline. The school day is defined from the beginning of 1st period through the end of 7th period.
- For a first offense, the electronic communication device is confiscated (returned to a parent only) and parents are contacted.
- For a second offence, the electronic device is confiscated (returned to a parent only) and the student serves and in-school suspension for one day.
- For a third offense, the electronic device is confiscated (returned to a parent only) and the student serves a three day suspension. A parent conference occurs before the student returns to school.
If a student must bring a paging device/cellular telephone to school, he may leave it in his vehicle, locker or drop it off at student services until the end of the day.
