The Purpose of the Advancement Team
The Advancement Team at CLHS (Concordia Lutheran High School) coordinates the efforts of the fundraising, admissions, and marketing duties as part of the strategic plan set forth by the CEA (Concordia Educational Association) Board of Directors and the Head of School. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for cultivating relationships with prospective students and their families, guiding them through the admissions process, and representing the school's unique offerings.

The Role and Function of the Admissions Counselor
The Admissions Counselor plays a critical role in the Advancement team, working closely with the Admissions Director to attract and enroll students who align with the school's mission, values, and educational philosophy. This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, effective communication, and a deep understanding of the school's Lutheran identity and academic programs. This will be met by the following tasks and responsibilities:
● Collaborate with the Admissions Director to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies that align with the school's enrollment goals and vision.
● Build relationships with middle schools, community organizations, and other feeder institutions to increase awareness of the school's programs and opportunities.
● Conduct outreach and informational sessions to prospective students and families, showcasing the school's distinctive features and benefits.
● Provide personalized guidance to prospective families throughout the admissions process, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing information about application procedures, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
● Conduct campus tours for prospective families and groups, showcasing the school's facilities, programs, and campus life.
● Facilitate in the assembly of the admissions folders and the acceptance process.
● Participate in admissions events such as open houses, shadow days, retreats, mentor events and recruitment fairs, presenting a warm and informative representation of the school.
● Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and update admissions materials, ensuring they accurately reflect the school's values and offerings.
● Maintain accurate records and databases related to inquiries, applications, and admissions decisions.
● Experience with spreadsheets and data entry is a must and social media beneficial.
● Proficiency in Hubspot and Canva are a plus.
● Update our grade school prospective student directory.
● Conduct grade school admissions visits.
● Help coordinate and administer EPIC Mentor program.
● Contribute to the development and execution of enrollment strategies to achieve annual enrollment goals.
● Foster a deep understanding of the school's Lutheran values, mission, and educational philosophy, communicating these aspects effectively to prospective families.
● Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices in admissions and enrollment management.
● Work closely with other departments to highlight the student experience in admissions and marketing materials.
● Work with other Advancement team members to supervise and mentor students as they create digital content for marketing strategy and execution.
● Provide support to Marketing and Communications Coordinator on promoting activities and events that advance the enrollment and admissions effort in the community.

The Primary-Directive
When representing the Association or Concordia Lutheran High School; the Admissions Counselorshall act in a manner that is ethical, prudent, legal, and consistent with the Christian faith, the Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws and Policies, the Strategic Plan, Statement of Faith, and Mission of the Association and CLHS.
Positional Requirements Education
Bachelors Degree desired but not required in education, counseling, marketing, or a related field.
Experience: Experience in admissions, enrollment management, education, or a related field is preferred.

The Admissions Counselor is accountable to the Director of Admissions and the Chief Advancement Officer of Concordia Lutheran High School.
Salary & Benefits
Salary is established by the current compensation model and commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications. Employee benefits are outlined in the current Employee Handbook and selected by the employee.
Term of Service
The Admissions Counselor’s offer of employment shall be on an annual basis. It is assumed that, given a positive performance review related to the professional development program, employment will be ongoing.

At the time of submitting your application, CLHS requires both a cover letter and resume, along with three references from supervisors who have seen your work directly, and verification of degree credentials. Upon hiring you will be required to complete a TB test, Livescan fingerprinting, and provide all official transcripts. 


We offer a competitive salary. For this position, placement on the salary schedule is based on education and experience.
