Job Summary

The Concordia Lutheran High School Admissions Counselor plays a critical role in the Advancement team, working closely with the Admissions Director to attract and enroll students who align with the school's mission, values, and educational philosophy. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for cultivating relationships with prospective students and their families, guiding them through the admissions process, and representing the school's unique offerings. This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, effective communication, and a deep understanding of the school's Lutheran identity and academic programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in admissions, enrollment management, education, or related field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and build rapport with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with students and families during the admissions process.
  • Proficient in using technology and admissions software for data management and communication.
  • Deep commitment to the Lutheran faith and an understanding of Lutheran values and educational philosophy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Admissions Director to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies that align with the school's enrollment goals and vision.
  • Build relationships with middle schools, community organizations, and other feeder institutions to increase awareness of the school's programs and opportunities.
  • Conduct outreach and informational sessions to prospective students and families, showcasing the school's distinctive features and benefits.
  • Provide personalized guidance to prospective families throughout the admissions process, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing information about application procedures, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Conduct campus tours for prospective families, showcasing the school's facilities, programs, and campus life.
  • Facilitate in the assembly of the admissions folders and the acceptance process.
  • Participate in admissions events such as open houses, shadow days, retreats, mentor events and recruitment fairs, presenting a warm and informative representation of the school.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and update admissions materials, ensuring they accurately reflect the school's values and offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to inquiries, applications, and admissions decisions.
  • Update our grade school prospective student directory.
  • Conduct grade school admissions visits
  • Help coordinate and administer EPIC Mentor program
  • Contribute to the development and execution of enrollment strategies to achieve annual enrollment goals.
  • Foster a deep understanding of the school's Lutheran values, mission, and educational philosophy, communicating these aspects effectively to prospective families.
  • Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices in admissions and enrollment management.

Required Documents

At the time of submitting your application, CLHS requires both a cover letter and resume, along with three references from supervisors who have seen your work directly, and verification of degree credentials. Upon hiring you will be required to complete a TB test, Livescan fingerprinting, and provide all official transcripts. 


We offer a competitive salary. For this position, placement on the salary schedule is based on education and experience.

Term of Service

The offer of employment shall be on an annual basis. It is assumed that, given a positive performance review related to the professional development program, employment will be ongoing.

Salary: $40,000-$45,000 based on qualifications
