COVID-19 Policies

As in every year, the health and safety of those participating in our Summer Programs is of utmost concern. But because of the current state of the world in relation to COVID-19, we are announcing special guidelines for our 2020 Summer Camps and Classes. If you have any questions about any of these guidelines, please contact our Athletics Office at (260) 483-1102, ext. 240 or shellinger@clhscadets.com (for camps) and Nancy Koehler at (260) 483-1102, ext. 313 or nkoehler@clhscadets.com (for classes).

Summer Camps:

  • All state guidelines for group gatherings and social distancing will be followed when possible.
  • All participants should be screened at home before attending the camp. Any person with any symptoms (fever of 100.4 or greater, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell) should not come to the camp.
  • Campers are to bring a face mask and wear it when social distancing is not possible. Campers will NOT be required to wear a face covering during activities.
  • Coaches, directors, and other supervisors will wear face coverings at all times (unless a health risk is posed).
  • Only participants in the camp should be in attendance (no parents). Parents are asked to remain outside the school building during dropoff/pickup activities, and when waiting for their child.
  • Hand sanitizer will be plentiful and available to individuals throughout the facility.
  • There will be no sharing of water bottles. Each camper should bring their own water bottle. There are water bottle refill stations within the building, but drinking foundations will not be available.
  • All equipment used (balls, facilities, etc.) will be cleaned prior to use and immediately following usage.
  • There will be no celebratory acts (handshakes).
  • Restrooms are open for student use in the school building. Locker rooms will not be available.
  • Appropriate clothing/shoes should be worn at all times to minimize transmission.

Summer Classes:

* Please refer to the Summer Camp regulations for the Summer PE Class.

  • All state guidelines for group gatherings and social distancing will be followed when possible.
  • Every student needs to bring their own face covering to school every day and have it accessible for use at any time. A student who prefers to wear a face covering for any activity at any time will be allowed to do so. Students are not required to wear a face covering during activities when Social Distancing requirements are satisfied. A student will be required to wear a face covering when social distancing requirements are not possible due to the event activity or physical environment during the class session (i.e. small group or lab work in close proximity with other people).
  • Only students should be in attendance and in the school building. Parents are asked to remain outside the school building during dropoff/pickup activities, and when waiting for their child.
  • All participants should be screened at home, daily, before attending school. Any person with any symptoms (fever of 100.4 or greater, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell) should not come to school.
  • Regular breaks are scheduled for handwashing.
  • Restrooms are open for student use in the school building.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available to individuals throughout the facility.
  • Students need to bring and use their own water bottle. There will be no sharing of water bottles. Water bottles may be refilled at the water station. Drinking fountains are closed and not available for use.
  • Students need to bring their own snack. Students should not share snacks with others.
