Biography

Crystal Castleman has been a teacher at Concordia Lutheran High School since 2002.  Prior to coming to Concordia, Mrs. Castleman taught for six years in the St. Louis area.  Her first two years were spent teaching middle school science at Grace Chapel Lutheran School followed by the remaining four years teaching high school chemistry and health at Metro East Lutheran HS.

Mrs. Castleman received her Bachelor of Arts in physical science education with a minor in biology from Concordia University in Chicago. After her years of teaching in St. Louis, she pursued research at The Ohio State University where she earned a Master of Science in biochemistry.

She serves as the science department chairperson. She has taught many different science courses throughout her time at Concordia including chemistry, integrated chemistry and physics, biology, AP biology, anatomy and physiology as well as the upcoming courses in PLTW biomedical science. She is the advisor for HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) club. HOSA is a competitive club for students interested in a healthcare profession. She is also the intramural volleyball coordinator.
