String Orchestra

The String Orchestra program is open to any student who is interested. It rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school. Orchestra techniques are taught while playing a wide variety of music. Music varies from Classical, Jazz, Latin, and Contemporary. Students who enroll in orchestra will receive ½ credit per semester. This also counts towards the Academic Honors Fine Arts credit. The group performs at elementary school concerts, Christmas at the Embassy, high school instrumental concerts, and Organizational ISSMA events during the springtime.

There is no formal audition to join the string orchestra. The group is compiled of students who have played in orchestra through the elementary program and high school band students wishing to learn an orchestra instrument. The orchestra program owns a handful of stringed instruments. If a student with no orchestra background has a willingness to learn and will be dedicated to the program, they are welcomed to join!
