The New School Year Begins

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year at Concordia Lutheran High School, our 89th year as a school community, founded in Christ, serving the Fort Wayne community. We pray and wish you God's Blessings on this school year that it be fulfilling and meaningful to you. You will receive and benefit from this school year by what you purposely contribute and invest in your learning experiences, relationships, and co-curricular activities. Some simple advice for every student: Talk with Your Teachers, Eat Properly, Laugh, Get Some Sleep, Celebrate People, and Pray!

Concordia Lutheran High School opened this academic school year on August 10 with terrific energy and anticipation for the school year ahead - and 624 students! Our first day of school was highlighted with an all-school chapel service in which Pastor Hoover used examples of puzzle pieces and a bicycle wheel to illustrate the connections we have with one another, in creating greater clarity in the picture and purpose that God has called us to be, rooted in scripture, worship, and service, all … with Christ at the center.

Please join me in welcoming our new faculty and staff members: Ms. Kauffman (PE/Health), Mrs. Keifer (Yearbook), Mr. Klage (Social Studies), Command SGT Major Mitchell (JROTC), Ms. Mundt (English), Mrs. Peperkorn (Choir), Mrs. Spires (Culinary Arts), Mrs. Sprayue (Media Arts), Mrs. McIntosh (Admin Assistant), and Mr. Childers (Marketing & Communications). We are blessed to have each of these individuals in our community, leading, teaching, and learning with our students!

Parents, please join us on Wednesday night, August 16 for our Back-to-School night. The purpose of Parent Back-to-School Night is for parents to meet their student’s teachers, counselors, and administrators in the building. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 6:30-8:00 PM. A number of other presentations are provided throughout the evening from our school administrators and counselors, details of which were emailed to parents on August 11.

Friday, August 18 is Retreat Day at CLHS! All 9th grade students (Freshmen) will be at CLHS, our Peer Ministers are with our School Counselors at Franke Park, and our Koinonia student leaders will be meeting at the Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS). Details of each retreat will be distributed to students and parents on/near August 14. Please reach out to our school office if you have any questions about any of the retreats. Students not engaged in one of the retreats will remain at home and may work on their e-Learning assignments which will be emailed to them by their teachers.

Wishing you God’s peace and blessings for this school year.

Go Concordia!
