Excitement in the New Year

Happy New Year!

Prayers and God’s blessings to you and your family in 2020!

I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas holiday, taking time to celebrate the birth of Christ with family and friends.

The new year brings excitement and hope as we take or initiate the challenges and opportunities that God places before us to grow in our understanding of Him and our role as His people. Our foundation in Christ’s love, which brings us the forgiveness of our sins through his death and resurrection, provides us with the confidence to grow, to live, to thrive. Please pray for our students and faculty that they are filled with resolve and confidence to have a terrific Spring Semester in both their academic and co-curricular life at Concordia.

Semester 1 Report Cards are available on each student’s OnCampus portal. Semester 1 Honor Roll will be announced later this month. Congratulations to students with a GPA of 3.66 and higher (and no grade lower than a C) who will be listed to Honor Roll and to our students with a 3.00-3.65 GPA who are named to the Honorable Mention Honor Roll.

Save the Date: Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 13. Please join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences on the evening of Thursday, February 13 at Concordia. This is a great opportunity to continue supporting your child’s education and maturation, and ask teachers about course registration for the next school year. Two special parent workshop presentations are planned the same evening at Concordia featuring Mr. Craig Scott of the Value-Up Foundation, and Dr. Michelle Drouin, a leading expert on digital media and the brain. Craig was a student at Columbine HS in April 1999 when the horrific attack occurred which killed his sister Rachel. Craig will speak to our student body earlier on the same date. Dr. Drouin is a PFW professor who travels throughout the USA leading seminars and parent workshops. Further details will be emailed and announced in the Daily Bulletin.

In early February, our Grade 9-11 students will receive materials for course registration for the 2020-21 school year. Two evenings (Feb. 27 and March 2) are set aside for current Grade 8 students and their parents to learn more about Concordia and register for next school year’s courses.

Go Concordia!
