CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

COVID-19 has made us realize the past few months how much we have and how much we take for granted. I think about all the athletes that missed out on experiences, opportunities, and community when the unthinkable happened. Not being able to participate in our daily activities has made us realize how much we want them.

My heart breaks for the athletes, especially our seniors who missed out on the end of their winter season and their entire spring season. All the “what ifs” that run through our minds. All the what could have been. This brings us to the challenge we have starting the 2020-2021 school year. We say to ourselves are all the rules, policies, and regulations that are set in order to keep everyone safe worth it …YES! Kids need activity in their lives. Why? Because participating in a sport is so much more than what some people think. Sports are:

  • Being a part of a family
  • Learning from our failures
  • Teamwork
  • Sweat and tears
  • Work ethic
  • Community
  • Humility
  • Sportsmanship
  • Leadership
  • Kindness
  • Time management
  • and the list could go on and on …

Our children learn so many life lessons when participating in a sport. God has given us sports and opportunity so let’s use them as we should … for good! It is not all about the win. It is about the journey.

GO CADETS in 2020-2021! Let’s take the challenge with Christ at the Center.
