The crowds may be small this season, but the field is bright … and artificial.

Beginning this summer, Concordia upgraded the Zollner Athletic Complex with new field turf on the football field, a brand new track, resurfaced tennis courts, and a new scoreboard with LED display and video capabilities.

The first game was played on the field on Aug. 25 as the boys soccer team beat New Haven 5-0. Since that time, the football team, cheerleaders, girls soccer, and Marching Band have all had their time out on the field. This spring, the track teams and the lacrosse team will be out to compete.

“All of this work will enhance the already great culture we enjoy at CLHS. Having excellent and accessible facilities helps us make a positive impact on those around us,” said Mychal Thom, Head of School. “We are focused on providing our current students with the best experience possible while ensuring the long-term excellence of our programs.”

The work has been funded through donations to the high school as well as through local foundations and businesses.
