What was your education after Concordia?

What did you love most about CLHS?
I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to attend CLHS, Lutheran elementary schools, and a Lutheran university! My positive experiences in education strongly influenced our family's decision to send our 5 sons to Lutheran schools. My husband was serving as a pastor in a small town in Missouri when he received a call to the Kansas City area where there is a Lutheran high school. My memories of CLHS and how it impacted my life were definitely considered in his decision to follow God's leading to the Kansas City area. Both of us are passionate about the importance of a strong Christian, Lutheran education in being able to raise our children to know the Lord and to be able to live their faith in the world. I thank God for the incredible teachers and staff who influenced my life as a Lutheran educator today!

What advice would you pass along to students?
My advice for students at CLHS is to cherish your time at Concordia! Even though I have not lived in the Fort Wayne area for over 30 years, I still recognize the incredible ministry of Concordia and the tremendous support of the alumni and the surrounding community. My family was devastated by the loss of my sister, Becky Carter, Class of 1987, when she lost her battle with aplastic anemia at the age of 23. The CLHS community was phenomenal in their support, encouragement, and prayers during that difficult time. We truly see CLHS as a family of faith that continues from generation to generation. I pray that all students at Concordia will understand the gift of your faith-filled education and consider how you might be able to serve the Lord in your future. Our churches and schools need more pastors and teachers, so I pray that you will be open to listen for God's call for your life!
