Alumni Spotlight: Brandy (Wallace) Lane '90

What is your current occupation?
Author and poet. Here is a link to my book, "Where Beautiful Loves: Poetry and Prose"

What led you to your current occupation?
I have written songs and small bits of poetry throughout my life, but two years ago, a dear friend urged me to do more with it. I am constantly learning about different forms of poetry and writing about all aspects of life. I am now published in ten anthologies and recently published my own book! Each day I look forward to what new things I can learn.

What was your education after Concordia?
I attended Ball State for four years.

What did you love most about CLHS?
Concordia have me the opportunity to be myself. I never had to fit into any mold and was allowed to explore my creativity through choir, theatre and the arts.

What advice would you pass along to students?
Be you. Don't try to be anyone other than who you are. Try new things, step out of your comfort zone of you have to. If you are true to yourself, you never have anything to regret.
