When did you start at CLHS?
Fall 2018

Please describe your position at CLHS.
I teach the English Literature classes at CLHS.

What was your education that led you to CLHS?
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University.

What did you love most about teaching at CLHS?
I love spending time with teenagers! They have so much to say and contribute. I laugh every single day! And I have made some life-long friendships among my colleagues.

What's your favorite story about your time at CLHS?
The absolute best part of my job is being able to teach next to Miss Ladwig. She is an amazing teacher and an even better friend. We have laughed until we've cried, and we are each other's biggest fan and advocate. I didn't come to CLHS to make friends, but God knew that I needed Miss Ladwig in my life. I am so blessed to have met her.

Who were your mentors in your career to becoming an educator?
My 11th grade teacher at Woodlan, Mrs. Barbara Willinger. I had always done well in my English classes, but she gave me the confidence and encouragement to find my voice. She spent time with me after school talking about good books and famous authors. I will always think of her and remember her kindness and attention to a shy girl who loved to read.
