Please describe your position at CLHS.
At CLHS I am the Director of the Instructional Materials Center, also known as the Library. In addition to working with classes on supplemental materials, managing textbooks and helping students with reading materials, etc. I am also the AP Coordinator, the School Testing Coordinator, one of the SIS managers, and Assistant Athletic Director.
 
What was your education that led you to CLHS?
I graduated from Valparaiso University in 1996 with a B.A. in History, Spanish, Political Science and Secondary Education. I got my M.L.S. (Master of Library Science) from Indiana University in 2004 and my M.S.ed (Master of Science in Educational Design and Technology) from Concordia University - Wisconsin in 2013.
 
What did you love most about teaching at CLHS?
The students and my colleagues.
 
What's your favorite story about your time at CLHS?
Many years ago Concordia had a lip sync contest, and the faculty participated by doing the closing song and dance from Sister Act - in full costume.
 
Who were your mentors in your career to becoming an educator?
My dad. My dad, John Marks, was an educator for 42 years. He was a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, Assistant Principal and, finally, Principal at CLHS.
