Fort Wayne, IN — Concordia Lutheran High School is proud to announce that sophomore Wisdom Pearson has been selected as one of 31 high school students to participate in the inaugural Heather Headley Masterclass. Wisdom Pearson’s selection highlights her remarkable dedication to her craft and her bright potential in the performing arts.
Out of 100 applicants from 13 school districts throughout Northeast Indiana, Wisdom was chosen for her exceptional talent, dedication, and courage in auditioning for this highly selective, three-day program. The masterclass will take place November 7–9 at the Pearl Street Arts Center in downtown Fort Wayne.
A dedicated performer, Wisdom has already appeared in multiple Concordia Lutheran High School theatrical productions, including The Lion King, Newsies, and Parade. Her commitment to her craft and stage experience have helped prepare her for this next step in her artistic journey.
“I’m truly honored to be selected for the Heather Headley Masterclass. I’m so grateful for this incredible opportunity to learn from such a talented artist and to grow as a performer,” said Pearson. “I hope to take everything I learn and continue improving while sharing my passion for the arts with others."
Led by Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway star Heather Headley, the program offers professional-level training in voice and acting, mentorship, and hands-on experience to prepare students for future careers in the performing arts. Headley, a Northrop High School graduate and Fort Wayne native, designed the masterclass as a pilot program with hopes of eventually establishing a permanent performing arts academy downtown.
During the intensive program, students will receive direct instruction from Headley’s personal voice teacher and acting coach, culminating in a Sunday showcase for family, friends, and local performing arts educators. All expenses for the academy are being covered by Headley and her husband, with only the use of the venue provided as a donation.
