JROTC Air Rifle team to compete at nationals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A team of five JROTC Cadets will compete at the U.S. Army JROTC Air Rifle Championships on Feb. 18-20.

The Army Championship Match determines who will represent the U.S. Army Cadet Command in the Inter-Service Air Rifle Match in Anniston, Ala.

There are 52 Sporter Air Rifle Teams and 18 Precision Air Rifle Teams competing in three locations: Provo, Utah; Anniston, Ala.; and Camp Perry, Ohio.

Each team fires a full course match (12 targets of four prone, four standing and four kneeling) over two days. Each day they will be on the firing line two and a half hours.

The team consists of c/MAJ Anna Werling (senior), c/CPT Miguel Rivera (senior), c/2LT Ian Brown (junior), c/SGT Jack Kidd (sophomore) and c/SFC Emma Martin (sophomore).
