Winterguard earns first, higher competitive class

This past season we performed a show called, “In the beginning.” It was designed around the moment of creation and Genesis 1. Our program was received well and in the second week of our competitive season, we were blessed to receive 1st place at the DeKalb show and to be bumped to a higher competitive class based on our score! This is an achievement that has not been awarded to any other group in the past three years. We felt incredibly blessed that our hard work was recognized by IHSCGA.

The Concordia Lutheran winter guard is a performing arts ensemble in its fifth year of competitive participation. The 2016 group was comprised of 23 eighth-grade through 12th grade students, eight of which were incredibly seasoned seniors. The mission of our group is to spread God's word through our show concepts, choreography, and our actions on and off the floor.

As the season progressed their successes on and off the floor continued. It was a wonderful season, not only because of their accomplishments, but also because of their dedication to each other, their ever growing skill set, our unified mission of spreading His word, and watching them praising Him through dance. It was truly a wonderful season!
