First year at Concordia

Hello Concordia,

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year at Concordia Lutheran High School. Concordia has been serving the Ft. Wayne community for 81 years, and this is my first in this community. I have some catching up to do! My family and I are excited to be members of the Cadet community of faith, tradition and life-forming experiences through education, co-curricular activities and relationships among students, families, faculty and staff.

SEEKING KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM WITH CHRIST AT THE CENTER is the theme of this school year, using Colossians 1:9-10 as a foundation, "Be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."

Our theme requires intentional action from our heart and feet in our walk with God and one another. The impact of Concordia has been evident in a variety of situations to me during my first month in Ft. Wayne. When asked what brings my family to Ft. Wayne and I explain my role at Concordia Lutheran High School, the immediate reaction has been one of praise, pride and encouragement. God’s spirit of seeking and serving in this community has been at work for many years, and with His help, will continue at Concordia.

Lord God,

At the beginning of this new school year support us to be your hands and feet wherever we are.

At the beginning of this new school year foster us to love as you love us.

At the beginning of this new school year engage us to welcome others into this community.

At the beginning of this new school year nurture us to pray for those in need. Amen

Stop by and introduce yourself! I look forward to meeting you.

Go Concordia!
