Anticipation of what is to come

As we begin our spring semester for the 2016-2017 school year, many of our seniors seem to be fighting terrible cases of “Senioritis.” There is so much anticipation for what is to come after they walk that stage at the Embassy in May and receive the diploma that proved they did it! Anticipation, excitement and readiness for the next chapter are taking over the minds of our CLHS seniors!

As our seniors look forward to their lives after high school, there are many people including faculty and staff, parents, grandparents and alumni of Concordia who are praying for them and hoping that these students find success in whatever they may choose to do next. Excitement is expressed when we see or hear about our alumni doing great things in their communities, at college or in their chosen careers. We hope that your time spent at Concordia Lutheran High School has helped to shape you into strong leaders, athletes, and Christian men and women entering the world with great plans to find success and happiness.

1 Peter 2:21 says, “For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.”

Each of our students has a purpose and something that God is calling them to do. When the final bell rings and that diploma is in their hands, things may change, but one thing remains … we must continue to always follow in God’s steps, living by his example.

As the Class of 2017 moves forward, we think about our recent graduates and would love to hear from you. Tell us about what life after high school has been like for you. How has God called you to continue serving him? We are working on putting together stories about our alumni. If you or someone you know has an interesting story to share, let us know. Send your stories to me at [email protected].

May God continue to guide our current students and alumni in His path, and we lift you up in prayer for a wonderful life after high school!
