A Time of Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Sixteen years ago today, thousands of innocent people were killed, families were broken, faith was tested and the evil of terrorism had a foothold. It was a day that will always be a part of our country’s history.

Lord, that day and the days to come, America felt a unified strength. We thank you for the first respondents, workers and volunteers that gave of their time to help those in need. We also praise you for our military personnel, who worked so hard then and now, to restore our freedom against terrorism and restore unity.

Father, sixteen years later, we still remember the innocent lives lost and how you are continuing to work through their families and loved ones, providing comfort and strength. At a time where the country seems more and more divided, I pray that you would continue to restore brokenness with togetherness, strife with peace, hate with love and hearts that want to love you and bring you the glory. Your steadfast love endures forever and as we look toward the cross we know that you have defeated sin, death and the power of the devil. Thank you for that constant reminder.

Finally Father, be with those in the natural disasters, both in Texas, Florida, Mexico and all over the world. We look to the Book of Job and know you promise to never give us more than we can handle. We thank you for that promise even when it doesn’t make sense or we don’t want to believe it.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, help us continue to find ways to serve you in our daily walk.

Director of Annual Giving
