Athletics is a very important part of the educational programming at Concordia Lutheran High School. Many great lessons can be learned that surpass even those taught in a classroom. Chief amongst these lessons is the idea of sacrificing for the good of the greater team

Firm in the Faith … with Christ at the Center is our theme for the 2022-23 school year. It is based upon I Corinthians 16:12-13, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” There’s a lot to unpack from this passage of Scripture, which provides a beautiful array of topics for our community to explore during chapel, Koinonia, and daily interactions within the classrooms and hallways throughout the year.

Sean Gibson has been a member of the CLHS swim community since his freshman year, when his relay team won state. Since then, he has gone from player to head coach, and his team has carried on the championship spirit — this year winning their fifth straight conference title.

One Concordia student is the star of the show — but for his ability to write the play.

I love athletics. Coaching basketball and being involved in athletics have always been a passion of mine. I enjoy watching our students prepare and compete on the court/field/track and play with a passion that is unmatched. Concordia is such a unique place because students have the opportunity to play and excel in multiple sports because of our small size. This is one of the reasons I think we are able to be so competitive when we compete against many schools that have a larger population then we do.
