Beyond Me The end of quarter is always a stressful time. It is stressful for students as they attempt to put their best foot forward and earn the best grade possible. It is stressful for teachers as they deal with the multiple requests and demands that come at the end of the quarter (many of which they wish would have come a lot earlier) and get all of the submitted materials graded and recorded.

Service Day 2021 This year’s school-wide Service Day was this past Friday, October 8. If you have been in the Fort Wayne area recently, you know that an umbrella has been an essential accessory as of late. A number of our school’s Koinonia* groups were planning for outdoor work sites. Gratefully, the rain did take a break during the primary work window (9:00 am to noon) and much was accomplished!

Schoolwide Testing Information Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 will take part in our school wide testing day Wednesday, October 13 2021. Grade 9 will be taking the PSAT 8/9 Test and grades 10 and 11 will be administered the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Seniors do not need to report to school. This would be a great day to schedule a college campus visit or work on your college applications.
Rules to Live By Every classroom has specific procedures, rules, and expectations. Statements like: Be prepared for learning, Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself, or Raise your hand to speak are commonplace in schools across the nation.
Alumni Spotlight: Renee (Heuer) Spencer '00 Renee (Heuer) Spencer, Class of 2000, is an Air Traffic Control Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration. It was her love of aviation from childhood that led her to her current career. Read more in this Q&A.
Cross Connections offers support to Concordia students in need Mrs. Mary Keller, M.S. is the new school counseling professional for Cross Connections as they support the students, families, and staff at Concordia Lutheran High School. Mary has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of St. Francis and a Master of Science degree in Education from Indiana University as well as an endorsement and licensed in school counseling.
