The human body is a wondrous and intricately designed creation that takes my breath away every time I revisit it. From the ways different parts of the body communicate with each other to the steps involved in keeping blood moving throughout the body, God’s fingerprints are seen all throughout our bodies.

What a year 2020 has been. When I thought about what I was going to write about in this blog, 2020 was the first thing to pop into my head. But not because of all the terribleness associated with it, but rather to give thanks for all the good I was able to be part of.

The CLHS Peer Ministers are a caring, diverse group of students who are aware of the needs of those around them. They are students ministering to students with the story of the Good Samaritan as their model. Peer Ministers are available as caring listeners who assist fellow students that are in conflict or crisis.

My husband and I received a phone call from our daughter who is a junior in college. She said, “I don’t know what’s wrong, but I’m just feeling extremely anxious this year.”

On the first day of my Theological Ethics class, I have my students conduct a fairly straightforward assignment: I place a chair at the front of the classroom and ask them, "What is this?"

For the past three years I have contributed a blog in early October as a way of summarizing the service projects performed by 60-plus Koinonia groups for Concordia's annual Service Day. This year is different.
