I am always impressed with all the accomplishments students achieve each school year.

Longtime teacher and drama director Chris Murphy will lead the March Alumni Mentor program at Concordia Lutheran High School. It will be held during lunch on March 18.

It is with this passion and obsession that I look forward to starting our engineering program at Concordia. When I first heard about the new pathways to graduation, I quickly saw an opportunity to expand the horizons of both the students and myself.

I began planning logistics on how I could teach people how to use a pottery wheel, and then put on a fundraiser to raise money for the soup kitchen. Last year, from that, SERVing Bowls was born. This year, we are continuing that project.

Abigail Grover has been named the new interim head coach for the softball program at Concordia Lutheran High School.

Congratulations to the finalists in the 2019 Comedy Festival, hosted by Concordia Lutheran High School. These films, which were submitted by local middle and high school students, will be shown on the big screen at 7 p.m. March 15 in the CLHS auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The college admissions and financial aid process is daunting. Our Class of 2019 is trying to lock down their plans for next year, and current juniors should be scheduling their SAT and ACT. There are so many tricks, tips, and slips out there that college feels impossible to get a handle on it. What do colleges even want?

Congratulations to our students who were named to the Honor Roll and Honorable Mention for the Fall 2018 semester.

Rev. Matthew Wietfeldt, Director of Admission and Christ Academy, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), will be the featured speaker for the February Alumni Mentor program on Feb. 19.

Many of you may have received an email from me that the State has finally set what they will actually be paying for 2018-2019. I am happy to report that the amount of the scholarship did increase this year.
