This past week on Spring Break I had the opportunity to travel down to Orlando and spend some time with family and relax. Like every trip to Florida, I had many conversations with my wife’s grandfather, Tom VonDeylen (Class of 1952). He has shared a lot of advice throughout the years about life and faith, but he stated something during the conversation that really stuck with me. He said, “No matter where you are and what job you have, if you work hard you will be successful.” How true is that?

CLHS has a long history of award-winning band and choir groups and noted artists and thespians. During this Fine Arts Week, students in the band, choir, visual and media art classes, drama and yearbook will have a chance to showcase their work throughout the school and to the community.

On May 19, celebrate Armed Forces Day by participating in the A.J. Arnett 5K Honor Run/Walk at Concordia Lutheran High School. The race will take place at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds will benefit Honor Flights and Shepherd's House Fort Wayne.

We can't let the media and press take all of the attention for mental health. Let's address mental health as a school, a family, and be there for each other.

Many great films were submitted for this year’s Concordia Comedy Festival. The finalists’ films will be shown on the big screen at 7 p.m. April 20 at the Cinema Center in Downtown Fort Wayne.

Concordia Lutheran High School’s next alumni mentor program will feature the counseling field.

Over the past two months a group of students and I have been volunteering at The Hope Center. The focus of the club was centered on artistic expression to give back to the community. The students in Photography 4 Change believe that an excellent photograph has the potential to affect change, to make a difference, and to expand a viewer's field of vision. Also, the goal was to allow the students to have an opportunity to take the time to get to know their subjects and to reveal stories together in a way that might make the world a better place.

Concordia Lutheran High School offers a state approved driver education online course as well as an approved driving course. There are three instructors who are certified and registered with the Indiana BMV.If you want to participate in Concordia’s Driver Education program, there are several steps to complete the task.

It is hard to believe we are at the end of March. If your family has an incoming student, please make sure to complete the Excel Scholarship and Tuition Scholarship applications before April 15. Returning students do not need to complete these.
