We offered a new class, Education Professions, that will help students learn about entering the field of education as a career and is taught by Chris Murphy.
We welcomed 11 freshmen into the Honors Academy.
We inducted 48 Students into the National Honor Society.
Our AP students outperformed the State and Global scores in all of our testing this year!
Our annual service day held on October 8, 2021 was a huge success as we served our Fort Wayne Community.
Our JROTC students learned about the Tippecanoe Battlefield on a field trip to the battlefield.
Our students competed in TechFest and placed in 5 of the 8 competitions:
1st – Engineering
3rd – Mathematical Madness
3rd – Mystery’s of Science
2nd – Programming
3rd – Hardware
Our JROTC Robotics Team won the World Championships for a second year in row.
Health Science students travelled to Europe to learn about medical practices and to tour London and area sites
The JROTC JLAB team competed at the JROTC Academic and Leadership Bowl in Washington, D.C., and took 29th out of 1,600 schools. The team consisted of Garrett Reinking, Ayden Doan, Troy Zimmerman, and Lawson Fairchild.
Student Academic Highlights
2021 Graduate Isaiah Rusher was the recipient of the Albright Gemlick Excellence Scholarship ($8,000 College Scholarship).
Payton Jackson and Caleb Goodwin, Class of 2021, were selected as scholarship recipients in the 360Awards. They both received $1,000 scholarships for making a positive difference in their home, their school, and their community.
Five Concordia students have been recognized by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Program. Junior Curry Jackson and senior Dontrell Johnson have been designated as College Board National African American Recognition Program Scholars, based on their remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP. Junior Amy Liñan has been designated as a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar, based on her remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP. Seniors Andy Deng and Rebekah Hammond have been named Commended Students in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students place among the top 50,000 students who took the 2020 PSAT.
CLHS DECA had six students who qualified for International Career Development Conference/Competition in Atlanta, Ga., from April 23 to 27, 2022. The top four placements in each event advance to International DECA Competition. Our CLHS students who earned the right to advance include:

Max Chhabra: 2nd place overall (Automotive Services)
Jack Habegger: 3rd place overall (Restaurant Full Serve Marketing)
Michael Habegger: 2nd place overall (Restaurant Full Serve Marketing)
Larry Schoenefeld: 2nd place overall (Personal Financial Literacy)
Izzy Smith: 4th place overall (Accounting Applications)
In addition, Lizzie Crook was a finalist in her event and finished in the top ten for Principles of Business Management.
Senior Wyatt Chesebrough received honors in the 2022 Scholastic Art Awards of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.
Senior Dontrell Johnson received the Miller Leadership Academy Scholarship from Ball State University.
Senior Caleb Castleman was named one of six Chapman scholars for Purdue Fort Wayne.
David Millman and Lydia O’Dell were selected as the 2022 Drum Majors for the Marching Cadets.
Isaiah Tietz was awarded the Fischer Scholarship and Elizabeth Gatchell was awarded the Gallmeier Scholarship
Senior Daniel Adair was the Valedictorian for the Class of 2022 and Senior Nolan Labahn was the Salutatorian for the Class of 2022
Senior Michael Habegger was awarded the Richard W. Moellering Senior Barnabas Award for exemplifying encouragement and servanthood.
McKenzi Humbert won the Lawrence A. Ackerman Scholarship through the Fort Wayne Zoological Society.
Senior Dontrell Johnson and Junior Wyatt Raney were essay winners of the JA Career Success Essay Contest.
Dontrell Johnson and Mahelat Lee were the first recipients of the Peggy Greer Calloway /Richard J. Ridley, Jr. Trailblazer Award Scholarship.

We presented checks to Honor Flights of Northeast Indiana, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, and Shepherd’s House Fort Wayne through contributions at our AJ Arnett 5K Honor Run.

The Marching Band took home 8th place at the State Finals on November 6, 2021.
Eric Kaschinske was awarded the “game ball” for going above and beyond by the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Extra Yard of Teachers Program.
Our annual Christmas Bureau collection was able to help 83 individuals through 16 families which included 245 boxes of gifts and 7 bikes.
We raised more than $253,000 at our annual Cadets in Cadence auction to support student scholarships through the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization).
36 students participated in the March for Life in Washington, D.C, in an effort to end abortion.
Ashley Wiehe, our CLHS Communications Manager and graphic design/yearbook teacher, was recognized at the Faith & Fundraising Conference for receiving the 2021 Jay Bleeke Young Professional Award. The award is presented to a young ALDE member who has taken a leadership role within ALDE and has demonstrated exemplary leadership and service to an organization within the fundraising and/or public relations fields.
Our Chamber Choir was named the 2022 Honor Choir – State Champions in the 6th Annual Indiana State School Music Association State Jazz Finals.
We raised more than $18,002 during our March Madness Challenge. Thanks to the 240 donors who supported our programs this year!
