Science Trip

In June 2027, the science department invites students to experience the best of Germany and Switzerland on a journey that combines iconic European sights, breathtaking natural landscapes, and innovative approaches to sustainability. We will explore vibrant Berlin, where historic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate and Holocaust Memorial meet the futuristic Futurium museum, urban farms, and innovative local businesses. Then, we will travel to Freiburg, an eco-friendly medieval city, and discover its green buildings, bike trails, urban gardens, and sustainable neighborhoods. We will spend a day hiking through the scenic Black Forest, visiting the charming village of Hofgut Sternen, and experiencing local traditions including cuckoo clocks and regional cuisine. In Switzerland, we will journey into the breathtaking Swiss Alps by cable car, explore a glacial cave, and learn about the effects of climate change. In the historic city of Lucerne, we will see historical sights that include the iconic Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument, before venturing underground into a unique historic bunker system.  We will visit a sustainable farm and end our trip with a hands-on farm-to-table experience. This trip offers travelers an unforgettable blend of history, culture, adventure, and spectacular scenery while exploring how communities are creating a more sustainable future.
