Summer Plans

Congratulations to the Class of 2017 for their graduation from Concordia Lutheran High School. Concordia had 194 graduates participate in our May 28 Commencement & Baccalaureate service in a full house at The Embassy Theater. Many thanks to the worship leaders, speakers, instrumentalists, and A Cappella Choir for their participation. God’s blessings to each of our graduates and their parents as they continue their walk with Christ in their next and exciting steps.

Semester 2 Report Cards will be posted on Friday, June 9 via Concordia’s OnCampus app, which can be found by clicking here. Please contact the school office if you need login assistance.

Comfort Dog Ministry coming to Fort Wayne. Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School, and Concordia Lutheran High School are partnering to begin a comfort dog ministry in Fort Wayne. With support from The Lutheran Foundation, we will be working with the Lutheran Church Charities’ K-9 Comfort Dogs program. During this past school year, comfort dogs from the LCC have visited Concordia with tremendous impact and enthusiasm. Details of how you can support and participate in the Comfort Dog program will be coming in the coming months.

What are your summer plans? My summer plans include ongoing work at school, time with family, and a few elements of fun that I am unable to do as often as I wish during the school year, including a round or two of golf, outdoor concerts, and a paddle in the canoe.

A sampling of Concordia’s Summer Plans:

Camps - Sports Camps. Fine Arts Camps. Academic Camps. Concordia is buzzing with activity as hundreds of elementary and middle school students are engaged with Concordia faculty, coaches, and students throughout the summer.

Travel - Prayers are with our 20 students and Tim LaCroix, German teacher, for their month-long summer study at the Zeppelin Gymnasium School in Lüdenscheid, Germany (near Dortmund). Concordia has annually participated in the German-American Partnership Program since 1985.

College Planning - Seniors of the 2018 Class are encouraged to begin/continue writing essays for their college applications. This gives the student time for feedback from their counselor before the application is due. College Counseling Consultant, Sharig Shemmassian offers a few more thoughts about college application for parents here. Shemmassian also writes about the 8 main pieces of the college admissions puzzle.

Go Concordia!
