Tidings of Comfort and Joy!

Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, who brings hope, forgiveness of our sins, and salvation to us. May the blessings of the Christ child be with you today and always.

Please join us this Sunday, December 15, for our annual Christmas at the Embassy concert, which begins at 4:00 PM. Please allow additional time to find a parking spot due to construction near the Embassy Theater.

In addition to prayers for our students and directors performing in Sunday’s concert, I ask for your prayers for all of our students as they write Semester 1 exams December 17-20. Concordia students return to classes on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, when we begin Semester 2.

Thank you for your contribution as Concordia supported families in the Fort Wayne area for this year’s Christmas Bureau collection and donation. Special thanks to our teachers Kyle Jane, Laura Bohnke, Kelly Beverly, and Betsy Ladwig for organizing this year’s Christmas Bureau activities through our Period 2 classes during the past six weeks.

I also thank the Concordia community for their significant financial support to our Cadet Fund through the Family of Funds and the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) at this past Saturday’s Cadets in Cadence Dinner Auction. More than $100,000 was raised for the SGO, which provides tuition support to many of our students so they may attend Concordia. The count continues of money raised for the Cadet Fund, which provides funding for academic and co-curricular programs in our school, which enhances our student’s educational experience. Your donation to the Cadet Fund are used to help fund Band & Choir Tours, JROTC tours, HOSA (health professions) and DECA (business) activities, lunch & learn events, sophomore class theology visits to The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, equipment and special gear for many of our sports teams, instruments, special/unique classroom furniture needs, and many other special touches that enlarge the impact of the excellent education Concordia provides.

Grade 9-11 students will soon receive results from the PSAT exam they took in October. I encourage you to review your results and do two very important follow-up steps: 1) Register your Student Score Report at The College Board, and 2) Connect your PSAT Code for SAT Practice at Khan Academy. Khan Academy is a FREE, online program that offers personalized practice for FREE to future SAT exams. SAT and ACT scores serve an important playing role for some of our students in satisfying Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE) Graduation Pathways.

Merry Christmas Concordia!

Principal
