Rish named Concordia’s Teacher of the Year

May 17, 2023

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Concordia Lutheran High School recognized Sally Rish today with the Excellence in Teaching Award.

Rish has served as an aide in the school’s Study Center, a resource room for students with needs that are learning disabilities, physical needs, or extra tutoring, since 2016. Before that time, she served the high school for 11 years in Student Services.

“Her passion for student success in whatever she teaches is outstanding, often going out of her way to help my child and other students find a solution,” one nominator wrote.

“This teacher works with my son in the Study Center every week. If it weren't for her dedication to my son’s success, I am certain he would fail. Her gentle persistence and tenacity embody effective teaching, professional, and personal growth, with a commitment to Christ. Need a meal? Done. Need a call to get you out of bed in the morning? Done. Need a ride to church? Done,” another nominator wrote.

Rish was honored today in front of the student body during chapel.
