Being Faithful

Simeon Stylites was a monk of the Eastern Church who lived in the 400's. Kicked out by a local monastery because his rules for living were too harsh. Simeon went to live on a small platform that he built on the top of a pillar. He lived on pillars for more than 37 years. That's living on a 40 foot pillar 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Eventually, his faithfulness touched the emperor and common people.

In today's world, Simeon's faithfulness might seem a little over the top. In the lost world today and a wandering generation influenced by the devil, God inspires faithful men and women to share the Gospel news. The Holy Spirit will also inspire people to spread the Word no matter what their background.

The disciples came from all walks of life and were not sure if they had the capability to spread the Gospel. Trusting in God with the help of the Holy Spirit, they made an impact.

Here at Concordia, the Lord has established a tremendous foundation to spread His Word. Everyday we see teachers, staff, students and parents being faithful in spreading the Gospel message. It is such a blessing to see God's ministry at work at Concordia in various ways!

May the Lord continue to bless our faithfulness to Him!
