My mother celebrated her 100th birthday on October 13th and I was blessed to be present. When asked what her secret was, she said that the Lord didn’t want her yet because He wasn’t done with her. My mother is a firm believer in Psalm 138:8, "The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me. LORD, your faithful love endures forever; do not abandon the work of your hands." It made me think about God’s purpose for my life.
Then, Pastor Lewis, spoke in chapel and talked about the various stages of our lives and I realized that the purpose for my life is constantly changing. Part of the ministry at CLHS is our passionate desire to help people
find their purpose in God’s kingdom. When you look at your life, what is it that you think God would have you do to further the kingdom today? What about in the future?
My mother gave me a card with the question, “Lord, what do YOU WANT to do with my life
today?” May that be our prayer each and every day as we love and serve Him.
