Concordia Lutheran High School will host a Black History Month assembly on Friday, February 6, from 9:35 to 10:15 a.m. in the Concordia Lutheran High School Auditorium. The event is presented in partnership with the Black Lutheran Alumni Scholarship Team (B.L.A.S.T.) and is open to the media.
This year’s assembly marks the fifth anniversary of B.L.A.S.T.’s scholarship program at Concordia Lutheran High School, which awards scholarships to African American seniors in recognition of academic achievement, leadership, and service. Since its founding, the program has supported and celebrated students as they prepare for future success beyond high school.
The keynote speaker for the assembly will be Dontrell Johnson, the first recipient of the B.L.A.S.T. scholarship in 2022. Johnson is a 2025 graduate of Ball State University’s Miller College of Business, where he earned Dean’s List honors every semester and graduated summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was also named a Top 100 Student at Ball State University and completed his degree a year early. Johnson is currently enrolled in the Accelerated MBA program at the University of Cincinnati and is expected to graduate in May.
Media representatives are invited to attend this special Black History Month celebration and are welcome to arrange interviews in advance.
