Concordia Lutheran High School Honors 2026 Faculty and Staff Award Recipients

Three Concordia Lutheran High School faculty and staff members were recognized with the school’s highest annual employee honors during the 2026 End-of-Year Celebration and Banquet.

Chef Michelle Towler, Culinary Arts instructor, received the Faculty Excellence in Service Award. Andy Klein, facilities manager, was named the recipient of the Staff Excellence in Service Award. Mindy Walz, English Department chair, received the Excellence in Teaching Award.

The annual awards recognize faculty and staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication to Concordia Lutheran High School’s mission, students and community through their service, leadership and commitment to excellence.

Towler has played a vital role in the growth and success of Concordia’s Culinary Arts program, providing students with hands-on learning experiences while fostering creativity, professionalism and a passion for the culinary field.

As facilities manager, Klein works diligently behind the scenes to ensure that Concordia’s campus remains safe, welcoming and well-maintained for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Throughout the school’s ongoing building and renovation projects, he has been heavily relied upon for his expertise, flexibility and dedication. His commitment and servant leadership contribute significantly to both the daily operations and long-term improvement of the school.

Walz has distinguished herself through outstanding classroom instruction and leadership of the English Department. Through her dedication to academic excellence and student growth, she has made a lasting impact on countless students throughout her tenure at Concordia.

The award recipients were recognized during the school’s annual End-of-Year Celebration and Banquet attended by faculty, staff, and board members on June 2.

“Chef Towler, Andy and Mindy exemplify the dedication, excellence and servant leadership that make Concordia Lutheran High School such a special place,” said Head of School Jacob Pennekamp. “Through their daily work, they have made a meaningful impact on our students, colleagues and school community. We are grateful for their faithful service throughout the past year and congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.”
