For more than 50 years, Concordia Lutheran High School has proudly competed in the Summit
Athletic Conference. The SAC has challenged our student-athletes, helped shape our athletic
tradition, and provided countless memorable moments. We are grateful for the relationships
we have built with our conference schools and for the respect they have shown Concordia
throughout the years.
After extensive study, discussion, and prayer, Concordia has made the decision to join the Allen
County Athletic Conference (ACAC) beginning with the 2027-28 school year. This was not a
decision made quickly or lightly. Over the past several years, school leadership and the Board of
Directors carefully evaluated our enrollment trends, competitive opportunities, travel
considerations, student experience, and long-term sustainability. We also sought input from
our coaching staff and examined what would best position Concordia Athletics for the next
generation of Cadets. At its core, this decision is about creating the best possible experience for
our students.
At its core, athletics should challenge students while also providing opportunities for growth,
confidence, teamwork, and success. Healthy competition helps develop character, resilience,
and leadership. As high school athletics continue to change across Indiana, enrollment
differences between schools have become increasingly significant. Many of our current
conference opponents now have substantially larger student populations, creating competitive
realities that are difficult to overcome consistently across multiple sports. Moving to the ACAC
provides a conference that more closely aligns with Concordia's size while continuing to offer
outstanding competition. We believe this alignment will create more opportunities for
meaningful contests, stronger participation, and positive experiences for our student-athletes.
This decision is not about avoiding competition. Concordia has never shied away from
challenges, and we never will. Instead, it is about ensuring that our students compete in an
environment where hard work, preparation, and development are consistently rewarded.
Joining the ACAC does not change our expectations. We will continue to pursue excellence in
every sport. We will continue to schedule strong non-conference opponents. We will continue
to prepare our student-athletes to compete at the highest levels possible. Our commitment to
developing Christian leaders, excellent teammates, and outstanding competitors remains
unchanged.
Athletics are one important part of the Concordia experience. Our mission is to help students
grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. Success is measured not only by
championships but by the character our students develop, the friendships they build, and the
way they represent Christ both on and off the field. We believe this move supports that
mission.
Transitions naturally bring questions and emotions. We understand that many alumni have
deep memories connected to the Summit Athletic Conference, and those experiences will
always remain an important part of Concordia's history. We also recognize that this move
begins a new chapter. We are excited to build new rivalries, strengthen existing relationships,
and provide outstanding experiences for our student-athletes and families.

encouragement of Concordia Athletics. Your investment in our students makes everything we
do possible.
We look forward with confidence, gratitude, and excitement as the Cadets compete one last
time in the Summit Athletic Conference in 2026-27 and begin a new journey in the Allen County
Athletic Conference in 2027-28.
