Dr. Christopher Amick (Northrop ’99) and Leah (Hanson) Amick (Northrop ’00) have a story that reminds us that God’s timing is often better than our own. Although they had known each other for years, life led them down different paths before bringing them back together. Recently married, Christopher and Leah enjoy spending time with family, traveling, making memories and finding meaningful ways to give back to their community.
Together with Leah’s son and Christopher’s stepson, Colson, a sophomore at Concordia Lutheran High School, they are active members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Faith, family and service are central to their lives, and they appreciate Concordia’s commitment to Christ-centered education and its dedication to helping students grow in faith, character and academic achievement.
Giving back is a shared passion for Christopher and Leah. They enjoy volunteering alongside members of Living Water Lutheran Church at Wolf Lake Onion Days, helping with Christmas festivities at Brookside Mansion on the University of Saint Francis campus, and serving wherever opportunities arise. Leah also leads Concordia’s Mom Squad, a group dedicated to encouraging teachers and showing appreciation for the important work they do each day.
After serving on the Cadets in Cadence Auction Committee in 2025, Christopher and Leah are excited to serve as the 2026 auction chairpersons. Through their involvement, they have come to appreciate the friendships, fellowship and generosity that make the Concordia community so special. They look forward to working alongside fellow parents, volunteers and supporters to create a memorable evening that celebrates the Concordia community and supports its students and mission.
Their commitment to faith, family and serving others is reflected in one of their favorite Bible verses:
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
