Sharing the message of Easter

Happy Easter!

“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” Matthew 28:5-7 (NIV)

What great news! Man, I love the Easter message and the renewed hope and joy it brings. So many things in life can bring negativity and take the joy out of our days. But, this message rings true and brings unparalleled hope, joy and life!

I think in life we sometimes confuse simple with simplistic. The message of Christ Crucified and his love for us is simple – God loved us so much that he sent his only Son to live and die for us, paying for our sin ... forever. That’s it, that’s the clincher – it’s over! Certainly, what Jesus did is not simplistic, however. He lived each and every day as a perfect human being. He resisted temptation, he loved unconditionally, and he spread the love of his Father unmistakably. That certainly is not simplistic. But, he did it for one simple reason, because he loves us and wants us to be with him in heaven, forever. He laid his life down, so that we could live ours, eternally. And that is the best joy-filled message of all!

So, I pray that as you live in the Easter joy of our Savior, that you are uplifted and encouraged to spread that joy to others! And that is what we are about at CLHS – sharing that joy, every day!

God’s blessings … and GO CADETS!

Following His Lead,

Mychal Thom
