FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Concordia Lutheran High School has named three incoming freshmen as Concordia Scholars for the 2017-18 school year.
These students are recognized with a $2,500 scholarship to attend CLHS. The scholarship renews automatically each year. They are selected because they exemplify and demonstrate integrity and good character at school, church, home and in the community.
This year’s recipients are Caleb Goodwin from St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Madeline Tom from Holy Cross Lutheran School, and Mallory Hockemeyer from Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School.
A Concordia Scholar must maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher and are chosen from the top 20 Excel Scholarship applicants who move through a rigorous process that is reviewed by the Concordia Scholar Committee.
A Concordia Scholar becomes an ambassador for CLHS, connecting others to Concordia through volunteer activities, and participating in special educational opportunities. Concordia pledges to support its Concordia Scholars with special opportunities for sharing and learning, recognition during the student’s years at CLHS, and a continued relationship with Concordia after graduation.
This scholarship has been awarded since 2006. Three students are selected each year.
