Celebrating the season

Savior of the nations, come. Virgin’s Son, make here Thy home!
Marvel now, O heav’n and earth, that the Lord chose such a birth.

Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, who brings hope, forgiveness of our sins, and salvation to us. May the blessings of the Christ child be with you today and always.

Please join us this Sunday, December 16, for our annual Christmas concert, “Christmas at the Embassy” at the Embassy Theater, which begins at 4:00 PM. In addition to prayers for our students and directors performing in our choirs and bands at Sunday’s concert, I ask for your prayers for all of our students as they write Semester 1 exams December 19-21. Concordia students return to classes on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, when we begin Semester 2.

Last week, Concordia supported 36 families in the Fort Wayne area in this year’s Christmas Bureau collection. Thank you for your contribution, and special thanks to Mrs. Stacey Salisbury for organizing Concordia’s participation in this annual event. Click here to view WANE TV’s report that highlights our students in service and community.

Grade 9-11 students will soon receive results from the PSAT exam they took in October. I encourage you to review your results and do two very important follow-up steps: 1) Register your Student Score Report at The College Board, and 2) Connect your PSAT Code for SAT Practice at Khan Academy. Khan Academy is a FREE, online program that offers personalized practice for FREE to future SAT exams. SAT and ACT scores may be playing an even more important role for some of our future Concordia students when the Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE) Graduation Pathways are incorporated, beginning with the graduating class of 2023.

Merry Christmas Concordia,

Patrick Frerking,
