The Role and Function of the Full-Time Student Interventionist 
The role of the Study Center Student Interventionist is to work in conjunction with all members of  this ministry for the purpose of accomplishing this ministry as follows:

Summary of Position: The Study Center Tutor provides academic coaching and tutoring support to students in the school's study center. This role assists students across all subject areas in strengthening their understanding of course content, assignments, and developing effective study skills aligned with the school's Christian values and educational mission.

The Positional Requirements 

Education:  High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred 
Experience:  One to three years demonstrated experience working with young adults (14-18)                            preferred. 

Skills and Abilities:  

  • Strong knowledge across academic subjects like math, science, English, history, etc.
  • Experience tutoring or providing academic support, especially to high school students
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • Must be flexible, display a willingness to learn, and display attributes of a team player. 
  • Passion for helping students learn and grow within a Christian Lutheran environment
  • Multi-tasking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and educational technologies

Accountability 

The Study Center Student Interventionist is accountable to the Director of the Study Center for  helping each student prepare for post high school education, Christian vocation and the Mission  of Concordia Lutheran High School. 

Salary and Benefits
This position is an hourly rate.  

Term of Service 
The Study Center Student Interventionalists offer of employment shall be for the 2024-2025 school  year.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 1-on-1 and small group tutoring to students across all subjects and grade levels
  • Review course content, homework, and preparation for tests/quizzes with students
  • Guide students in developing strong study habits, note-taking, time management, and organizational methods
  • Maintain open communication with parents
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to clarify lessons, assignments, and support student learning
  • Create a positive, faith-nurturing environment in the study center
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student attendance
  • Keep confidentiality
  • Uphold Christian values and act as a role model to motivate students academically and spiritually
