As Concordia Lutheran High School prepares for the 2026–2027 school year, several updates have been made to the Student-Parent Handbook to support a positive, distraction-free learning environment while promoting student safety, academic success, and consistency across campus.
Key updates include:
- Personal Electronic Devices: In accordance with Indiana's "bell-to-bell" law, cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and other personal electronic devices must remain off and stored in student lockers throughout the entire school day, including lunch, study hall, and passing periods.
- Student Appearance: Dress code expectations have been clarified, including updated guidelines for school-approved pants and footwear. Hair color must be a naturally occurring color, and facial piercings are no longer permitted during the school day (clear or flesh-toned spacers are allowed).
- Laptop Requirement: Students are expected to bring a charged laptop with a physical keyboard each day as an essential learning tool.
- Attendance & Activities: Students must attend the required portion of the school day to participate in extracurricular practices, performances, competitions, and other school-sponsored activities, with approved exceptions for circumstances such as medical appointments.
These updates reflect Concordia's ongoing commitment to creating an environment where students can thrive academically, grow in character, and remain focused on learning.
Students and families are encouraged to review the complete Student-Parent Handbook before the start of the school year and contact the school office with any questions.
