Dear Concordia Lutheran High School Students, Parents, and Guardians,
As we prepare to welcome students back for another school year, we want to share information regarding two important updates that will take effect this fall. Our goal is to provide a safe, organized, and Christ-centered learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
Random Drug Testing Program
Beginning this school year, Concordia Lutheran High School will return to urine testing as the collection method for our Random Drug Testing Program.
For more than 20 years, CLHS utilized urine analysis as the testing method. In 2023, when we partnered with Parkview Occupational Health Centers to administer our program, we transitioned to saliva (oral swab) testing. After reviewing our program and current best practices, we have decided to return to urine testing. Urine testing continues to be widely recognized for its reliability and accuracy in detecting substance use while supporting the integrity of the testing process.
Parkview Occupational Health Centers will continue to administer our Random Drug Testing Program and help us maintain a safe, healthy, and drug-free learning environment.
What students and families can expect:

Random selection of students will continue through the same confidential, fair, random selection process administered by Parkview Occupational Health Centers.

Students selected for testing will provide a urine sample in a private and respectful setting under the supervision of trained Parkview personnel.

All collections will follow strict chain-of-custody procedures and be processed through certified laboratories.

Confidentiality and the school's supportive response to positive test results remain unchanged.
Because Parkview Occupational Health Centers administers the program, families will need to complete a consent form for each individual student through DocuSign prior to the start of the school year. The form will be emailed via DocuSign to the primary parent/guardian listed for each student. Families with multiple children attending CLHS will need to complete and submit a separate form for each student.
As outlined in the Student-Parent Handbook, participation in Concordia Lutheran High School's Random Drug Testing Program is a required condition of enrollment and there is not an option to opt out of the program.
School Parking Updates
To improve organization, traffic flow, and safety on campus, we are implementing an assigned parking system for the main school parking lot beginning Wednesday, August 12, the first day of school.
The assigned parking system will be in effect during the school day from 7:00 a.m. until 3:10 p.m. Parking spaces will not be reserved for evenings, weekends, or school events outside of regular school hours.
The parking assignment process will be as follows:

Numbered parking spaces in the main school lot will be assigned by the school.

Seniors will have first priority for the available spaces.

Juniors will be entered into a lottery for the remaining spaces in the main parking lot.

Sophomores, freshmen, and any remaining student drivers will park in the Zollner Stadium parking lot.
Students who indicated during enrollment or re-enrollment that they plan to drive to school have already been entered into our parking database.
Students assigned a space in the main school parking lot will have the $35 annual parking fee billed to their family's FACTS account. Students assigned to the Zollner Stadium parking area will receive a parking permit, and the parking fee will be waived. Parking in the Zollner Stadium lot is free for the school year.
Senior Painted Parking Spaces
We are excited to offer seniors the opportunity to personalize their assigned parking space through our Paint the Lot program in a limited number of parking spaces that are available for painting.
Seniors wishing to participate in painting their parking lot stall should:

Review the Paint the Parking Lot guidelines and complete the required application form.

Submit their proposed design and application form for approval to Mr. Brackmann, Dean of Students Success.

Turn in the completed form and the $15 participation fee to the school office between July 30 and August 4.
Parking spaces will be reserved in the order applications are received. Seniors wishing to have adjacent painted spaces should submit their applications together. Once all designated painted spaces have been reserved, no additional requests will be accepted.
