JROTC units from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio consisting of more than 700 Cadets in total will represent all four branches of the military at this highly competitive and prestigious event.
If you are anything like me (and I guess I’m hoping you are) you have experienced times in your life when you didn’t feel much like rejoicing. You may have times of pain, struggle, and overall feelings of utter failure, perhaps in multiple areas of your life. At times, for me, these times can come in waves, and although I know what the Bible says about joy and trust, it can be very difficult to do this!
Junior Lauryn Jones took second in the American Legion Oratorical Contest on Jan. 24 at the American Legion Post 117 on Tillman Road.
On Feb. 2, 47 Concordia Lutheran HS students participated in the American Mathematics Competition, a nationwide mathematics contest.
Vitamin D is one of the vitamins we are starting to hear a lot more about and is only naturally present in a few foods. It is essential for our bone health — preventing osteoporosis — and may protect us against colds and in fighting depression.
Our program was received well and in the second week of our competitive season, we were blessed to receive 1st place at the DeKalb show and to be bumped to a higher competitive class based on our score! This is an achievement that has not been awarded to any other group in the past three years.
The new students this spring are freshmen Lindsay Bennett, Hannah Gerig, RJ Gevers, Bayley Hitzemann, Madelyn Nix and Jeffrey Slack
At 7 p.m. on March 18, these students, represented from Memorial Park, Central Lutheran, Carroll, Bishop Dwenger and Concordia Lutheran High School, will vie for the top slot in the middle and high school categories. The showing, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Cinema Center, 437 E Berry St., in Downtown Fort Wayne.
Dr. Bob and Sue Dettmer, 1958 and 1960 graduates of Concordia Lutheran High School, are being recognized by ALDE, a national group for Lutheran development professionals, with the 2016 Spirit of Giving Award.
