Computer Camp—Summer of Code with Disney & Robots

Computer Camp—Summer of Code with Disney & Robots

Have fun exploring the wonderful world of computer programming in this hands-on beginners STEM camp. First-time computer scientists will learn the basics of coding by using robots and their favorite Disney characters to sample several programming languages. Java and Visual C# will emphasize computer syntax, declarations, assignments, and working with object-oriented programming languages. Thunkable will be used to develop iPhone/Android apps. And Lego Mindstorm robots will teach valuable problem-solving methods, engineering concepts, and computer skills as campers design, build, program and compete with working robots.

Never programed a computer or built a robot before? No problem! The emphasis of the camp is to provide an energetic atmosphere with a focus on teamwork, problem solving, collaboration and having fun learning to “speak” computer.  All you need to bring is your creativity and basic keyboarding skills. Register by May 14 for your Summer of Code USB Flash drive containing all computer languages used in camp so you can program at home where the coding never has to stop. Please plan to bring a sack lunch.
