The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation offers a full-ride, 4-year merit scholarship for any undergraduate study at any accredited U.S. college. This scholarship is open to any high school junior who pans on enrolling in college in the fall of 2025 and is an American citizen. To obtain this scholarship you must read President Coolidge’s autobiography and a few other readings and write three essays. Successful candidates exhibit academic excellence, an interest in public policy and an appreciation of the values President Coolidge championed as well as humility and a record of service to their communities. Students interested in the ministry:  Anderson University is offering a new School of Theology and Christian Ministries Scholarship for students who major in Christian ministries, youth ministries, or worship Arts. The scholarship is $20,000 ($5000 each year) and can be combined with other financial aid, including merit scholarships.   
Anderson also offers scholarships for different majors, such as Teacher Education Scholarship, Music, Theatre and Dance scholarships, and Engineering scholarships. and Women in Computer Science Scholarship. Check out their webpage. 

Deadline April 1, 2023

This scholarship is to be administered by the Martin Fischer Memorial Fund of the Concordia Educational Foundation (CEF) in accordance with the guidelines established. The scholarship is to be awarded annually by CLHS to a worthy and deserving CLHS student to be used during the student’s four undergraduate college years. The scholarship further stipulates that the student must study a Humanities-related field, which includes the fine and performing arts, languages, philosophy, religion, history, education, journalism, many more, etc., branches of learning having primarily a cultural character. The scholarship shall be for $8,000 annually, renewable for three years, for a total of up to $32,000. 

Deadline April 1, 2023

This $1500 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating CLHS Senior who will attend a Lutheran college or university to prepare for a career in Christian Education or the pastoral ministry. It is renewable for three more years if the conditions of the Scholarship are met. Applications are DUE IN March each year and are available from Ms. Karen Johnson, Guidance Assistant, in the CLHS main office. 

Due Yearly in the Fall (Second Week of September)

We have made a few minor changes to the application:

  • Removed SAT scores from the application & scoring materials
  • Removed gender references from the application

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:

  • be a resident of Allen County, Indiana
  • have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • graduate during the current school year with a diploma from an accredited high school in Allen County
  • Intend to apply to an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study by the following fall.
  • The applicant has overcome obstacles that created barriers to academic achievement.
  • The applicant’s family has demonstrated financial need shown through the completion of the FAFSA, eligibility for subsidized school lunches, or other extenuating circumstances, such as multiple children in secondary and postsecondary school or a single-parent household.

If you live in another county, they may have their own Lilly Endowment requirements and deadlines.  Be sure to check that out.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will again offer 5 scholarships to Allen County students. These scholarships cover full tuition, fees and a stipend to cover books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study at an Indiana college or university.

To apply for this scholarship, you must be a resident of Allen County graduating during the 23-24 school year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The application includes two essays; the first “What barriers have you or will you have to overcome to attain your educational goals,” and second, “Why are you pursuing your chosen career and what are your long-term goals.”
The completed application must be turned in to the Guidance department no later than September 1, 2023. Pick up your application from Miss Johnson in the Guidance Office.

Chick-fil-a Scholarship:

Applicants to the Chick-fil-A Community Scholars Program must:

  • Be current high school
  • Be involved in community service, extracurricular activities and/or a leadership role in the twelve (12) months prior to application deadline (for examplevolunteering for non-profits, helping others less fortunate, tutoring/mentoring, etc.)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

Information is available in the Guidance Office for the Edgar H Kilbourne Scholarship Fund. Students eligible for the Kilbourne reside in Allen County, are affiliated with a church or religious organization, and demonstrate financial need and qualities of leadership and initiative. Desired qualifications include being in the top 50% of your graduating class and a minimum GPA of 2.0. These applications are completed online at Flyers and Q&A sheets are available in the Guidance Office. Applications for the Kilbourne will be accepted January 11 through March 28, 2023.

Information is available in the Guidance Office for the Evans-Moss Scholarship Fund. Students eligible for the Kilbourne reside in Allen County and earn or contribute part of the cost of their education each semester. Desired qualifications include being in the top 50% of your graduating class and demonstrate financial need and scholastic ability. These applications are completed online at Flyers and Q&A sheets are available in the Guidance Office. Applications for the Evans Moss will be accepted January 11 through March 28, 2023.

Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Inc is accepting applications for the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship of up to $2,500 is awarded to an Indiana High School Senior whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer. If you plan on becoming a teacher or school administrator, there are three scholarships you should check out from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship offers a renewable scholarship of up to $7,500 per year in exchange for agreeing to teach for 5 years at an eligible Indiana School. The Earline S Rogers Student Teaching Scholarship for Minorities offers up to $4,000 in the semester a minority student does their student teaching or school administration internship. And the Student Teaching Scholarship for High-Needs Fields allows up to $4,000 for students who plan to teach in special education or middle or high school-level math or science.  Check out these scholarships at [email protected]. Student Insights is a market research firm helping colleges and universities communicate more effectively with high school seniors. They are announcing opportunities for two scholarships, the Indiana Senior Scholarship Program and the Student-View Scholarship Program. To apply for the Senior Scholarship program go to and complete an application survey. Multiple scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. Applying for the Student-View Scholarship automatically enters you into the drawing for the Indiana Senior Scholarship. The scholarship deadline is April 23, 2023.

The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association is taking applications for their scholarship for students enrolling as a full-time student studying for a career in a Law Enforcement Field. Applicants must be a resident of Indiana. You must also be a member of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of an association member. If you are not a member of the association, there is an application for association membership with the scholarship paperwork to become a member.  Deadline for this application is April 1. Information on this scholarship is available in the Guidance Office.

HeySunday’s Annual Eco-Warrior Scholarship
• Amount: $1,000
• Application deadline: December 1
• Eligibility: Open to all high school senior, undergraduate or graduate students. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident. 
• Where to apply: Interested students can apply here  
• Recurring: Annually, with the deadline on December 1 each year

The John H Noll Scholarship is available to graduates of Fort Wayne high schools planning full-time attendance at an accredited 2 or 4-year college, university, vocational-technical or trade school. This scholarship gives preference to average students with a GPA of 2.0 to 3.5 on a 4.0 grading scale. The application site is available February 2, 2023 through 3:00 pm March 16, 2023. Applying for the University of Saint Francis?  Be sure to check out the Pay It Forward Scholarship. To apply you must first apply and be accepted to USF. Each year they award one full-tuition scholarship and 2 half-tuition scholarships. While on their website, check out the other scholarships as well.
Philanthropic Educational Organization is granting the P.E.O. Star Scholarship to exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution. If interested, contact Lois Branstrator at 260-450-2044.

Description: Funded through the generosity of private donors. There are approximately 100 USI Foundation scholarships reserved for new, incoming freshmen. Students' applications match them with any scholarships for which they meet the criteria set forth by the donor. Students access the application through their myUSI account that is created once they are admitted to USI.
