Setting Up Your Device

NOTE: Before continuing, it might be easier to view this tutorial on a separate device so you can follow along on the device you are setting up for use at Concordia

First things first:

  • Have your device fully charged
  • Ensure you have turned your device on, can log in to it, and have created any required accounts such as a Microsoft Account or AppleID (both are optional)
  • Know your device login credentials!!!
  • Ensure you have account permissions to install applications at school
  • Run all system updates
  • Download and install Google Chrome
  • If you are really feeling adventurous, download and install Google Drive

 

If you have a Windows computer, get it out of S Mode:

  • You will NOT need Microsoft Office 365 for any assignments at Conc
  • Click the Windows search bar and Type S mode
  • Click switch out of s mode (this is located in System > Activation)
  • Click S Mode button -> Open Store
  • Click the Get button to turn off S Mode

Get ready for Concordia with a school username and email address!

 

CLHS Username: The last 2 of graduation year + first initial + last name (NO spaces, hyphens or apostrophes)

  • Example: If Sarah Smith-Jones graduates in 2028 her CLHS username would be 28ssmithjones
 
CLHS Email: Your CLHS username + @clhscadets.com
  • Example: Since Sarah Smith-Jones's CLHS username is 28ssmithjones, her CLHS email address would be [email protected] 
 
Be sure you understand your Cadets username and email address are not the same thing and sometimes you will need to login with your username and other times your full email address

The default password for new account logins is:
cadets1234

Name your device and get its MAC address:

If your device is ever misplaced needing to be located on our network you should prepare it by doing the following:

 

Once you get to Concordia, go to your WiFi settings and select the cadets network
